Aight so this is my first entry on this joint, what to say... what to say? Well, My name is Malika, I am a non-graduating senior at Hampton University, dont know when exactly im going to graduate but hopefully sometime soon. Im a saxophonist, which has been a gift and a curse since I started playing it when I was 12. I am in the F.O.R.C.E. (Marching band for all that dont know....) I am also a member of one of the only organizations with a purpose: Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority...Hence the name IndestrucTAUble. That name really means alot to me.
Anyway, Im not a mainstream person. I hate the style of today. I think its disturbing that people automatically think that what you see on tv should be worn in real life. I hate to see people immitate what they see on tv and then call themselves "individuals"... I mean really, how original can you be when the person beside you has the same thing on as you do??
For instance, I see a whole lot of girls rockin that Faux Hawk thing, ya know the hair style that looks like you just stuck your finger in the socket? I asked this one girl what made her do it, and she replied " I just thought I would do my own thing".... that was the immidiate end of our conversation.
Anyway, I want to start reading someday, but I never find anything worth reading. I guess I will stick to magazines, I think you get more information from those anyway. I learn more about people in Jet than I do watching CNN everyday.
Im not really in to sports, not because its boring, but because I have too many damn channels that I just dont feel like looking for them. I hate the Dish. I am a big soccer fan, but I only watch it on the spanish channel... it adds that little bit of entertainment that I need.
So I really have nothing else to say, so stay tuned to the next installment. |
